We are in the middle of summer, the high temperatures are evident and, in many occasions, also our desperation. Faced with this situation, it’s great to be able to make a little getaway to the beach, even if it’s just for a weekend. In fact, you can take a look at the best beaches in Valencia and the best beaches in Barcelona. But, in case you have to study, work, or whatever forces you to stay in Madrid, in today’s post we bring you some of the best rooftops and terraces where you can enjoy a cool drink in the heights. Let’s go there!  


Picalagartos terrace is one of the best known in Madrid. Located in the heart of Madrid’s Gran Vía (Gran Vía, 21), on the rooftop of the NH Collection Gran Vía hotel, it has spectacular views. In addition, Picalagartos has different spaces so you can choose to be inside with air conditioning or be on the terrace.  


Very close to the Plaza de Callao, in the street Jacometrezo, 4, we find the terrace of XWYZ Bar. It is located on the rooftop of the Aloft Hotel, on the eleventh floor. It is perfect for cocktails and has a surprise, it has a swimming pool! Can you think of a better plan to spend the hot summer afternoons in Madrid than having a cool drink by the pool?

Sabatini Gardens Apartosuites  

The terrace of the Jardines de Sabatini Apartosuites offers truly incredible views. From this terrace you will have views of the Royal Palace of Madrid and you can enjoy the best sunsets overlooking the Temple of Debod 

Ginkgo Restaurant  

Ginkco Restaurant & Sky Bar is located on the rooftop of the hotel VP Plaza España Design. Located at Plaza España, 3, just like the terrace of the Jardines de Sabatini Apartosuites, it offers views of the Royal Palace of Madrid. However, one of the special features of this terrace is that it offers lunch, dinner and tapas with live performances.  

Picos Pardos  

The Picos Pardos Sky Lounge terrace is located on the rooftop of the BLESS Hotel Madrid. This hotel is located in the heart of the Salamanca district, on Calle Velázquez, 62, and we are sure it will leave you with your mouth open. It has a swimming pool and Balinese beds, so you can even take a nap there!
